The Night Shelters
(« Abri de Nuit de Port Louis/Plaine Wilhems »)
• 125 residents welcomed during the year
• More than 15,000 meals served.
• Cost of Rs 350 per resident per day
• Annual budget for the two shelters: Rs 8.3m
Mission:
• To help homeless persons regain their human dignity as citizens in view of their social reintegration.
• Help them to become accountable for themselves, and towards society at large.
• Help develop a spirit of solidarity, compassion and mutual understanding among those affected by homelessness.
Services offered at the shelter:
• Bathroom facilities
• Meals
• Sleeping accommodation/Dormitories
• Accompaniment
• Administrative and psycho-social assistance to facilitate reinsertion
